English poet Geoffrey Chaucer wrote the first recorded poem in 1375 titled “Parliament of Foules”. Doesn’t sound very romantic to me. But then what do I know of romance in the year 1375? By 1840, Easter A. Howland was the first person to mass-produce the Valentine card.
